Banking exam syllabus

The banking selection process usually consists of two phases: Prelims and Mains. While Prelims focuses on speed, Mains tests your deep conceptual knowledge.

Quantitative Aptitude (Numerical Ability)

This section is all about calculation speed and logic. Speed Math: Simplification, Approximation, Number Series (Missing & Wrong), Quadratic Equations. Arithmetic: Percentage, Profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Ratio & Proportion, Averages, Time & Work, Speed-Time-Distance. Data Interpretation (DI): Tabular DI, Bar Graph, Line Graph, Pie Chart, and Caselet DI.

Reasoning Ability

Tests your mental alertness and logical thinking. Puzzles & Seating Arrangement: Circular, Linear, Square, Floor-based, and Box Puzzles. Logical Reasoning: Syllogism, Inequality, Blood Relations, Direction Sense, Order & Ranking. Miscellaneous: Coding-Decoding, Alphanumeric Series, Input-Output (Mains level).

English Language

Focuses on grammar and reading comprehension. Reading Comprehension: Fact-based and Economy-based passages. Grammar: Error Spotting, Sentence Improvement, Phrase Replacement. Vocabulary: Cloze Test, Fillers, Synonyms & Antonyms. Verbal Ability: Para Jumbles, Sentence Rearrangement.

General & Banking Awareness (Mainly for Mains)

Banking Awareness:

RBI Functions, Monetary Policy, Banking Terms (Repo Rate, SLR, CRR), History of Banking.

Financial Awareness:

Union Budget, Economic Survey, Government Schemes (PMJDY, Mudra Loan).

Current Affairs:

Last 6 months of news related to Finance, Appointments, Awards, and Sports.
